After all you put me through
You'd think I'd despise you
But in the end I want to thank you
Because you made me that much stronger
When I, thought I knew you
Thinking, that you were true
I guess I, I couldn't trust
Called your bluff, time is up
'Cause I've had enough
You were, there by my side
Always, down for the ride
But your, joy ride just came down in flames
'Cause your greed sold me out in shame, mmhmm
After all of the stealing and cheating
You probably think that I hold resentment for you
But, uh uh, oh no, you're wrong
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do
I wouldn't know just how capable I am to pull through
So I wanna say thank you
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
Ohh, ohh, ohh, ohhhh, ohh-yeah ah uhhhuh
Never, saw it coming
All of, your backstabbing
Just so, you could cash in
On a good thing before I realized your game
I heard, you're going around
Playing the victim now
But don't, even begin
Feeling I'm the one to blame
'Cause you dug your own grave
After all of the fights and the lies
Yes you wanted to harm me but that won't work anymore
Uh, no more, oh no, it's over
'Cause if it wasn't for all of your torture
I wouldn't know how to be this way now, and never back down
So I wanna say thank you
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
It makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
How could this man I thought I knew
Turn out to be unjust so cruel
Could only see the good in you
Pretended not to see the truth
You tried to hide your lies, disguise yourself
Through living in denial
But in the end you'll see
YOU-WON'T-STOP-ME
I am a fighter and I
I ain't gonna stop
There is no turning back
I've had enough
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
It makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighte
though i forget, but i, i remember
i remember, i remember
though i forget, but i, i remember
i remember, i remember
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
It makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fïghter |

Fighter (song)
"Fighter" is the third single from Christina Aguilera's second album Stripped. Released in 2003, the single peaked at number twenty on the Billboard Hot 100, where it became Aguilera's ninth U.S. top-twenty single. "Fighter" also reached number three in the United Kingdom and Canada, and number five in Australia.
Composition and inspiration
"Fighter" was penned by Aguilera and Scott Storch, and was also produced by Aguilera and Mr. Storch. Of much debate is whether "Fighter" can be considered a "true" rock song.[weasel words] Supporters of the song as a rock song point out the song's harsh tone and harsh rock guitars. Purists of rock music, however, ring a different tune and feel that the song is a pop song. Both parties will agree though that "Fighter" does bear elements of rock (but whether it is a "true" rock song or not is still debated).[weasel words]
In her first single to bear elements of rock music, a seemingly dissatisfied Aguilera seems to bemoan and scream of a man who apparently did her wrong. However, in a surprising twist, she does not want to complain or insult him; in fact, she wants to thank him. Aguilera feels that by dealing with him, she was only able to become that much stronger: "Makes me that much stronger/ makes me work a little bit harder/ makes me that much wiser/ so thanks for making me a fighter."
Christina has claimed many times that this song is specifically about her ex-manager Steve Kurtz who worked with Christina during her first album.[citation needed] Aguilera and Kurtz had a huge fallout as Aguilera claimed that she discovered that Kurtz was mishandling a lot of her fortune and would take a large percentage of her earnings, more so than a normal manager should. When Aguilera discovered this about Kurtz, she quickly replaced him with Irving Azoff who handeled her career from 2001 onward. Azoff also gave Christina freedom on her second album Stripped and would allow Christina to take as much time as she needed. Christina would always claim that Kurtz had almost overworked her into the ground during her first album.
"Fighter" is also one of Aguilera's most popular songs, as it became the official anthem for the 2003 NBA Playoffs and was heard daily during the NBA Finals commercials by millions of viewers. An official video was even shot for the NBA Finals featuring Aguilera doing choreography with her dancers on a basketball court. This single is her most played song in Asia, especially in the Philippines; it stayed in the Philippines Music Chart on the top for 7 non-consecutive weeks.

Music video
The music video, directed by Floria Sigismondi, is known for being one of Aguilera's most unusual. In the video, she is wearing a black velvet kimono, with a pale complexion, and long black hair, resembling that of someone who follows gothic fashion. Three pins are stuck to her back, making her hunch. Initially trapped in a glass box & her kimono goes flying about like a balloon & while Aguilera is in the glass box, three goth ballerinas eat fruit and then collapse, possibly symbolising forbidden fruit. Aguilera breaks free from the box by pounding on it until it breaks, as a form of expressing her frustration.
Aguilera then loses her kimono after furiously removing the pins on her back and throwing them away. A tattered, white, moth-covered dress is revealed, symbolising her metaphoric evolution from a larva to a pupa. In addition, her hair becomes white, then lots of moths fly on to her.
Another stage of evolution occurs as Aguilera wears an Elvira-type spider dress, finally proclaiming—at the end of the song—that she is, indeed, a fighter & at the end of the video, she kicks the TV Camera. This video shows the metamorphosis of Aguilera's slow yet steady progression of her inner-strength after being heartbroken, to the degree that she becomes unbreakable.
